We are launching a new study to better understand how family experiences relate to mothers’ and babies’ brain activity and their everyday interactions with each other.
What will the study involve?
A short phone screening to confirm eligibility
A 45-minute phone or Zoom interview and 1-hour online questionnaire to learn about your life experiences and family background
A 1.5-hour visit to our lab. During this visit, you and your baby will:
Play together while being video-recorded to learn about everyday parent–child interactions
Wear a comfortable EEG cap (like a stretchy swim cap with sensors) during simple, age-appropriate activities so we can measure both your and your baby’s brain activity
What do participants receive?
To thank families for their time and contributions, participants will receive $85 in cash and a photo of you and your baby wearing EEG caps — because our little junior scientists look adorable in them!
Who can take part?
We are looking for mothers who are at least 18 years old and have infants between 5–7 months old.
We are especially interested in hearing from families from a wide range of educational and income backgrounds.
When can you sign up?
We’re not recruiting just yet—but stay tuned! This study will be launching soon, and we’ll share details here once everything is ready.
